Fun times w/ lots of people. We had a lot of the core ‘Bossler crew,’ but also Jonathan Schlabach, Jonathan Mitten, Josiah, Doug’s Lauren, and Joella… So it was good times…And the vibrating back massager caused quite a few laughs at the expense of Matt (x3) Joella (x3) and Jon Mitten. (That wink was for you, Heidi.) Let’s just say that when you hide a vibrating back massager under a couch pillow and plug it in as soon as someone sits down, they get quite a shock…and when you trick someone (for instance, Matt) three times in one night, the reaction gets better each time. And let’s not forget the bright orange hat with camo trim and a camo pom-pom. But of all the free entertainment we got last night, not much could beat watching Matt and Joella laugh. And, yet, watching Jon find infinite ways to look funny while climbing a pole was pretty amusing.
The conversation turned serious when most everyone had gone. We talked about death. I’ve had experiences with death, but nothing very, very close. No family member…no close friend. Someone made a comment, and I just looked at them and realized how thankful I am to have gotten to know them…how thankful I am for their life. And I realized how many people I love so much…how it would just about kill me to lose any one of them.
6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
